About the Site

The Xanthic Eye was originally started as a playground for me to create site interfaces. During the early days, the site's appearance changed very often. Many of the designs were only up for a few days before being retired for another design. Soon after I began expanding the site's content to offer wallpapers and later on tutorials, icons and skins. What Xanthic means

Xanthic: (Xan"thic) a. [Gr. xanqo`s yellow: cf. F. xanthique.] Tending toward a yellow color, or to one of those colors, green being excepted, in which yellow is a constituent, as scarlet, orange, etc.

What kind of computer do you use to do your work?
A lot of the super ancient stuff was done on an old Compaq Presario, years ago. Some of the older work was also done on an Apple iBook. All of the more recent additions have been done on either a Mac Pro or PowerBook G4.

Can I use *insert graphic name here* for *insert purpose here*?
No, my work is copyrighted, and may not be used. If you want, you can email me, and we can work something out, but I usually will say no.

I saw a wallpaper on one of your desktop screenshots, but you do not have it for download... how do I get it?
If I have a wallpaper on my desktop that isn't on my wallpaper/background page, then it is because either, it's a personal wallpaper, or I haven't finished it yet or I haven't had time to upload it.

Why don't you update as much anymore?
My day job mainly is to blame; it is hard to come back to Photoshop when I get home after having used it for about 8 hours at work... but I am always thinking of different things to do to the site.

Why did you choose the name Xanthic?
Well, the site I had (which I can't remember the name) right before starting the Xanthic eye, had a yellow interface, one thing led to another, and it somehow developed into the Xanthic eye.

How long have you been doing graphics?
Since around 1999, but I have been working with traditional mediums for as long as I can remember.
